Google Duo Adds Special Effects in Video Messages for Halloween and Diwali

Google includes three new video effects for Video Messages in the Google Duo app. These three effects are Halloween and Diwali holiday based special effects.

Google Duo is available on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store. There are two new effects for Halloween and one for Diwali Festival. Halloween is a festival where people dress up scary and do trick and treats and Diwali is one of the biggest Hindu festival of lights.

Most of the application adds effects and filters which are related to specific occasion like festivals, new year, sports, etc. Duo video chat app users can use these effects in video messages. In the app, there is an option to send a video message when the screen is swiped down. Users can select any effect from the bottom of the display before recording the video message.

First Halloween filter icon is pumpkin which adds pumpkin in the background and makes users a creepy scarecrow with hat and marks on face. Another Halloween Filter icon is Ghost which turns the background with spooky effects like spiders, Spider web and ghosts. The Diwali filter icon is sparkly stick which adds sparkles and a Happy Diwali message in the video message.

These new video effects doesn’t require update to the new version of Duo app. It also has some more effects like heart bubbles, frame filter, Cat with sunglasses filter, window effect, and more. these occasion effects mostly appears for a limited period of time. Google has been frequently working and adding new features for making Duo more useable and interesting.
