TikTok Tests ‘Social Commerce’ Feature to Earn More Money

In the growing world of social media app, each developer is introducing new features to improve the popularity of their app. TikTok a viral video app also seems to follow the lead.

A founder of Chinese Startup Uplab, Fabian Bern made a post via his twitter handle revealing a demo about TikTok testing new feature. The demonstration video shows that there’s a puppy running wearing panda dress, the post has the link for the creator’s Amazon Page named Pandaloon Costumes. Users can easily scroll through and buy the outfit.

TikTok influencers will get the benefit to add e-commerce links in contents and earn some extra cash. Also, users can add a URL link in the Bio from where other users can click and get redirected to other social media accounts, or merchandise shops or third party contents.

TikTok and Instagram are following each other’s some features. Recently news came about Instagram introducing new video creating feature in its app. Now TikTok is adding the feature to add link to products within the app. Whereas Youtube and Snapchat already made this ‘Social Commerce’ feature possible in their app.

For now, TikTok did not make any announcement for the official release of the feature for all users. We can expect soon to get more information on this.
